White House communications director Hope Hicks resigning

White House communications director Hope Hicks on Wednesday abruptly announced she'll resign.

One of President Donald Trump's longest-serving aides, Hicks will exit after "several weeks," said White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

The announcement by Hicks, 29, comes a day after she was interviewed for nine hours by the House panel investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election. During the hearing, she said she occasionally told “white lies” for Trump but had not lied about anything related to the Russian investigation.
