Home appliances maker Whirlpool Corp. was hit by a quarterly $420 million charge related to U.S. tax reform.
The charge brought the company's net loss to $268 million, compared with a profit of $180 million a year earlier.
Benton Harbor, Michigan-based Whirlpool reported revenue of $5.7 billion, up from $5.66 billion.
