Advertising and marketing professionals are invited to whine and dine at the 19th annual Addy Awards Jan. 24 at University Plaza.
This year's awards ceremony, titled the "Whiners Convention," will honor the best of approximately 500 entries with Addys and certificates of merit, according to Karen Campbell, senior account manager with KTTS and coordinator of this year's Addy Awards.
Regarding the theme of the event, "This year we're celebrating a Whiners Convention because the stress of deadlines, clients and competition leave us all needing a little verbal relief," Campbell said in press statement.
In addition to the Addys themselves, two special honors will be bestowed The Silver Medal and The Advertising Professional of the Year recognizing outstanding, lifetime achievement by ad club members, Campbell said.
Sponsored by the Springfield Advertising Association, the local Addy competition is the first step toward the American Advertising Federation's national Addy Awards.
The festivities begin with a 5:30 p.m. reception in the University Plaza atrium, followed by dinner and award presentations at 7 in the main ballroom.[[In-content Ad]]
