WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton called himself a "sellout" for allowing his company to be sold to Facebook.
“At the end of the day, I sold my company,” Acton told Forbes. “I sold my users’ privacy to a larger benefit. I made a choice and a compromise. And I live with that every day.”
Facebook purchased the messaging app in 2014 for $22 billion. Acton last year left $850 million worth of unvested stock behind when he exited Facebook.
