What’s the most popular emoji in Mo.?

Posted online
It may surprise no one that the state which asks you to be #ForeverRoyal and is home to #CardinalNation uses the baseball more than any other emoji.

According to USA Today, a study from smartphone keyboard maker SwiftKey attempts to discover what emojis each state uses more than others. The results – dubbed The United States of Emoji – are based on analyzing more than 1 billion emojis typed into keyboards in the U.S.

Some were no surprise, such as the Statue of Liberty in New York or the surfer in Hawaii, but others are more of a mystery. The peach emoji is most popular in Minnesota and the eggplant in Nevada.

A similar global study of emoji across 16 languages found happy and sad faces and hearts as the most popular overall. Nationwide, the most popular emojis are eggplant, birthday cake and a slice of pizza.
