What do I do when employees complain about our most competent middle manager?

Employees don’t leave organizations, they leave bosses. Many competent leaders are great at managing up, but when it comes to employee relationships and managing down, they have blind spots. A red flag is high competency but low compassion and/or poor communication. Great leaders are both competent and caring. An anonymous survey can measure how employees perceive their leaders in terms of fairness, communication skills and other values important to your organization.
