What do CEOs do all day?

Most worker bees have dreamed of being the boss one day. But aside from the stereotypical expectations of calling the shots without actually doing the work and pulling down a hefty paycheck in the process, what does a CEO really do all day?
 
Marketplace asks that question of economics professors who study the topic, and of various CEOs who live the answer. Their findings: Mostly, CEOs spend the bulk of their days talking. According to the report, more than 80 percent of a CEO's time is spent in meetings.
 
Which is a good thing for the company's bottom line, the report states. Most of a CEO's meetings are spent with employees and the more time the CEO spends with staff, the better the company performs. However, a CEO who avoids employees is probably a CEO who is looking for a chance to jump ship, according to the report.
