Private equity firm Westward Alliance LLC announced today it purchased the central U.S. territory rights of national brokerage firm Murphy Business & Financial Corp.
The deal closed Sept. 1 for undisclosed terms, according to a news release.
Clearwater, Fla.-based Murphy Business & Financial operates via a network of over 120 franchisees in the U.S. and Canada, according to its website. The company specializes in business and franchise sales, business valuations and commercial real estate.
The central region comprises nine franchisees and 10 agents operating in Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas.
“We are excited to add Murphy Business & Financial - Central Region to the Westward Alliance portfolio and feel it is a good fit that complements our other holdings,” said Westward Alliance partner Jason Graf, who has served as a business intermediary for Murphy for five years, in the release.
Under the terms of the deal, former central region owners David Hamm and Dan Machnick will stay on board, according to the release.
Led by Ryan O’Reilly, Westward Alliance has been busy with recent purchases. In January, the company took over BYOPizza, and also secured full ownership of Aviary Cafe and Creperie LLC that month, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.
