West Plains landfill could become solar farm

The site of an old landfill in West Plains could become a solar farm.

West Plains City Council is scheduled to hold a meeting tomorrow on a 10-year master plan that would include nearly $7 million for a solar farm.

"West Plains enjoys some of the lowest rates in electricity," Public Works Director Jeff Hanshaw said in a KY3 report. "We've also seen some expenditures on the increase in the last few years, so we're trying to get a handle of it ahead of time."
