Sam and June Hamra, owners of 21 Wendy's restaurants in Missouri, including locations in Springfield, April 20 opened a new location in Nixa at Highway 160 and Aldersgate.
The store's owners have close ties to Nixa, according to a news release from Wendy's of Missouri Inc.
Sam Hamra served as the Nixa city attorney from 1965-70, and June Hamra was part of the Jubilaires, a seven-member singing group that sang on the "Ozarks Jubilee" television show and included Nixa residents.
Ian McKenzie is the district manager for the new Wendy's restaurant, and Joe Thurmond is the general manager. Both McKenzie and Thurmond are Nixa residents.
The architect for the facility was Rita Baron of the Farnsworth Group, and MoCon Group was the contractor.
