Wells Fargo yesterday disclosed as many 3.5 million customers were affected by its fake accounts scandal. That’s well above the 2.1 million figure the company previously disclosed.
A year ago, the San Francisco-based company confirmed its employees opened millions of unauthorized accounts since 2011.
With the latest reveal, the company will provide $2.8 million more in refunds on top of $3.3 million already paid out to affected customers.
