Wells Fargo & Co. (NYSE: WFC) announced plans to lay off 100 people in the Charlotte, North Carolina, region.
Officials cited "continuing market changes" and efforts "to better align with current volumes" for the layoffs in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
"The decision to reduce our workforce is made with great concern for our team members. Wells Fargo Home Mortgage is committed to retaining valued team members and, where possible, we will work to identify other opportunities within Wells Fargo," bank officials said in a statement.
