Wells Fargo chairwoman resigns

Wells Fargo Chairwoman Betsy Duke resigned abruptly.

James Quigley, a member of the bank's audit and risk committees and a director since 2013, also stepped down.

Rep. Maxine Waters called for their ouster last week. The Waters-led House Financial Services Committee released a report citing "problematic" communications of Wells Fargo executives related to the company's fake-accounts scandal.
