Well Fed Head prepares to close its doors

Posted online
After eight years selling used books to Springfield residents, Well Fed Head Books is preparing to close its doors for good.

The store, which opened Oct. 31, 2002, according to previous Springfield Business Journal coverage, announced its plans to close April 11 in an e-mail to regular customers and via its Web site.

"We are closing our store this week and are going to be selling the entire inventory of books, bookcases, furnishings, and just about everything that is not nailed down – and even a few things that are nailed down," owners Mike Sowers and Beth Buczynski said in the e-mail.

Messages by voicemail and e-mail were not returned as of 11:30 this morning.

The company is holding a sale of all of its books, along with bookcases and furniture, running Tuesday through Sunday.

The bookstore originally opened at 331 S. Campbell Ave., in what was formerly the Dungeons of Doom haunted house, according to previous coverage. The store moved in August 2008 to its current location at 1316 E. Battlefield Road, in the Fremont Center.[[In-content Ad]]
