Welcome to Dismaland: Banksy's new grotesque art theme park

Posted online
Unlike its counterpart Disneyland, Dismaland is not the happiest place on Earth.

Through statues, installation prices and spray-paint images, Dislamand is more of an artistic commentary on the the bright and shiny image of society.

Sound familiar? That’s because it’s a Banksy.

According to CNN, the seaside town of Weston-super-Mare in southwest England is the latest exhibition from the art world's favorite agent provocateur. Billed as a "bemusement park,” it's a warped vision of the so-called "happiest place on Earth.”

Features include a decrepit fairytale castle in a moat of murky water and Cinderella's crashed coach surrounded by clicking paparazzi.

CNN reports the site was a former public pool and the artist planned the piece for months. Locals were told it was a film set.

The park opened Aug. 21 to locals only and is Banksy's largest exhibition to date with around 4,000 allowed in daily.

Dismaland runs through Sept. 27.
