Martin D. Weiss, chairman of Weiss Ratings Inc., has authored what the company calls "a road map" for baby boomers to help them grow their wealth safely. Weiss Ratings Inc. is an independent provider of ratings and analyses of financial services companies, mutual funds and stocks. Weiss' new book, The Ultimate Safe Money Guide, was published Feb. 15 by John Wiley & Sons.
The book is aimed at giving consumers the direction they need to grow their wealth safely even in hard times.
The Ultimate Safe Money Guide ex-poses conflicts of interest that continue to plague the stock brokerage community, and it offers guidance on selecting brokers and stock and mutual fund investments. Specifically, Weiss advises consumers how to avoid Wall Street hype and spot corporate earnings manipulations, to recognize the pitfalls of free investment advice and to recover money lost by careless, unethical or dishonest brokers. The book also explains how to reduce the risks of investing.
Readers also will have access to guidance about offsetting the financial burden of medical and health-care costs and finding the safest and least expensive life insurance.
The book, which includes a risk self-test, also has sections dedicated to widows and divorce. Information about the book is available on the Weiss Ratings Web site, www.weissratings.com.
