Weight Watchers CEO resigns

Weight Watchers International Inc. CEO James Chambers is stepping down.

The company - which reported a loss in its latest quarter - has begun its search for successor. Chambers' resignation is effective Sept. 30. The company also created an interim leadership office to oversee operations until a permanent CEO has been appointed.

Shares of Weight Watchers fell more than 7 percent in after-hours trading yesterday following the announcement.
