Southwest Baptist University President C. Pat Taylor addresses 160 attendees at the Sept. 20 opening of a new training center for the Mercy College of Nursing and Health Sciences of SBU. The 15,000-square-foot center, 1265 E. Lark St., is designed to mimic on-the-job functions in nursing and help fill a worker shortage.

Ozark R-6 School District Board of Education Secretary Lisa Neiman swears in Shane Nelson as the newest member. Nelson, owner of Ozark Abstract and Title Co. and former mayor of the city, succeeds Angie Barnes. He beat out three other finalists to fill the term through April 2017.
