Officials with BluCurrent, CU Community, TelComm, Volt, Assemblies of God and Metro credit unions present a check for nearly $42,000 to Harmony House and Help Give Hope. The two organizations split the funding, which was raised during the credit unions’ annual community golf tournament in September.

Ozarks Technical Community College Dean of Technical Education Matthew Hudson receives the Remanufacturing ACE Award at the RIC-RIT World Remanufacturing Conference, held Sept. 19 in Rochester, New York. In partnership with the Rochester Institute of Technology, the Remanufacturing Industries Council honors individuals and companies based on a mission to advocate, collaborate and educate in the remanufacturing industry. ‘Juror #3’
The Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association on Sept. 20 hosts a book-signing event with local author Nancy Allen, who recently co-authored “Juror #3” with James Patterson.
A safe room and classroom addition at Willard Central Elementary School will be used by the music, arts and athletic programs for a district that had 4,536 students last year, according to Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education figures, but school officials say enrollment is projected to grow.
