Greene County Sheriff Jim Arnott on Oct. 14 shaves off the signature spiky hair of Greene County Presiding Commissioner Bob Cirtin at the Historic Greene County Courthouse. Cirtin committed to the head-shave if employee participation doubled in the county’s annual United Way campaign. “A bald head is a small price to pay for employee engagement and support of a great organization,” Cirtin says.

A videographer shoots Tyler Ham Pong, the on-camera Canadian host for Brand USA, at Dickerson Park Zoo in a five-video series promoting Springfield and Joplin along the Route 66 corridor. The Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Missouri Division of Tourism have partnered with Brand USA to entice more of the 15 million Canadians who visit the U.S. each year to come to the Show-Me State. Filming in Springfield included stops at the zoo, Hotel Vandivort and Hammons Field. Last year, Springfield CVB and state tourism officials spent $37,500 combined to market to international travelers through Brand USA.
