State Sen. Bob Dixon, R-Springfield, presents Rick Hughlett, owner of Rick’s Automotive, with Missouri’s Silent Hero Award on Oct. 3 at Touch Restaurant on East Republic Road. The honor is designed to recognize citizens who contribute time and energy to the community without seeking public recognition for their efforts. The award was accompanied by signed resolutions from the Missouri House of Representatives and Missouri Senate.

Citizens Memorial Healthcare CEO Donald Babb introduces Grammy Award-winning Christian music artist Amy Grant to guests at the ninth annual Citizens Memorial Healthcare Foundation Burgundy Ball, held Sept. 22 at the University Plaza Convention Center. Grant was the featured speaker and entertainer for the event that attracted 625 guests and also served to celebrate Bolivar-based CMH’s 30th anniversary. During the ball, four individuals received the Donald J. Babb Award for their support of the health system: Linda Harris, a CMH project coordinator; Karen Keeton, CMH’s compliance officer; Linda Wainscott, CMH’s director of education services; and C. Pat Taylor, president of Southwest Baptist University.
