Cusano helped more than 375 volunteers on 74 teams add 290 members to the chamber’s membership base during the three-day event. The chamber now reports 1,951 members. Ozarks Food Harvest President and CEO Bart Brown and Director of Development and Communication Denise Gibson hoist a $125,000 donation received from the Wal-Mart Foundation on Oct. 20 at the nonprofit’s Springfield headquarters in the O’Reilly Center for Hunger Relief, 2810 N. Cedarbrook Ave. The money, awarded from the foundation’s State Giving program, will support matching pass-through grants for Ozarks Food Harvest’s pantries in 28 counties. Since 2010, the nonprofit has awarded over 200 grants representing $515,000 from the Wal-Mart Foundation.
