Officially Turner
New Southwest Baptist University President Eric Turner is inaugurated April 26 on the Bolivar campus. Succeeding C. Pat Taylor, he assumed the presidency – the school’s 25th – on Sept. 1, 2018. Turner, who was selected last summer out of 25 applicants, comes to SBU from Black River Technical College in Pocahontas, Arkansas, where he’d worked since 2014.

At the Tool Belts & Bow Ties gala March 22, Jennifer Williams, far left, shares her story of receiving a Habitat for Humanity home in 2018. She’s joined on stage at the annual fundraiser with Habitat for Humanity of Springfield Executive Director Larry Peterson and emcees Chelsea Banner and Rick Moore of radio station KTTS-FM. Organizers say the event raised $134,171 to build a home for another local family.
