During the Springfield Prayer Breakfast on May 2, John Smith recounts the day he fell through an icy lake near St. Louis, was pronounced clinically dead and 16 days later walked out of the hospital. His story inspired the film, “Breakthrough,” which premiered in April. After Smith’s speech, some 900 attendees joined together to pray for the community and government leaders.
