Officials at Springfield-based Convoy of Hope say the humanitarian organization has reached 10 million meals served in response to the COVID-19 crisis. With donations from corporations, churches and individuals, Convoy teams have set up distribution sites in hundreds of communities nationwide – like Emmanuel Christian Center in Minnesota, pictured above. “The line of cars is often stretching 2 miles,” says Convoy President Hal Donaldson. “Lots of people have lost their jobs, and children don’t have access to school lunch programs. We’re hearing heart-wrenching stories and seeing lots of desperate faces. This is a united act of compassion.”
