Nixa Public Works crews remove a 32-ton transformer from its downtown substation March 6. Part of an 11-year electrical upgrade plan for the city, a new 50-ton transformer is expected to arrive March 15. Already in place at Nixa’s three other substations, the $650,000 transformer is expected to improve reliability and redundancy.
