CHANGE FOR CHILDREN
Representatives from select nonprofits gather to accept $250,641 in Jeanette L. Musgrave Foundation grants on June 18. The grants administered by Community Foundation of the Ozarks Inc. have the potential to reach $650,000 over a three-year period if the agencies meet renewal guidelines. Eight nonprofits were selected for the first year of the Musgrave Foundation’s Change for Children initiative designed to assist kids in the area. The OTC Foundation and the Springfield-Greene County Park Board each received $50,000, the highest grant amount awarded.

OFF THE AIR
“The Mystery Hour” host Jeff Houghton, far right, talks with crew members who have participated in the late-night television show over 10 seasons. The June 18 show at the Gillioz Theatre was the last to be filmed for television. In a blog post on Medium.com, he said the decision to exit the airways was so he could spend more time with his family and other business endeavors, including his Writers’ Room marketing agency. Houghton has said the show will continue to be held live at the Gillioz on a quarterly basis.
