Legal Services of Southern Missouri and the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Foundation have sought the help of friends to raise $500,000 to meet a growing need for free legal services locally. After attorney and businessman Sam Hamra, at center, right, pledged $30,000 toward the campaign goal, Strong-Garner-Bauer PC matched it and Polsinelli PC offered $50,000. Through offices in Springfield, Rolla, Charleston, Cape Girardeau and Farmington, Legal Services provides free legal assistance to those living at or below the poverty level in 43 counties.
