Roughly 300 Springfieldians cool off July 16 with an inner tube ride down Boonville Avenue. Salt Lake City-based Slide the City turned the downtown street into a 1,000-foot water slide, similar to a Slip‘N Slide. A portion of proceeds from ride tickets, ranging in cost from $15 to $120, were donated to the Downtown Springfield Association and for Route 66 projects being coordinated by the city of Springfield.
