Select Specialty Hospital physical therapist Jessica Gleason, second from right, threw the first pitch at the June 30 Springfield Cardinals game as part of Southwest Baptist University’s PT at the Ballpark event. Gleason was selected for first-pitch honors because she was named 2014 Clinical Instructor of the Year in the school’s physical therapy doctorate program. About 100 SBU alumni, faculty and family members attended.

The check represents the value of the Glenstone Square Big Idea Program grant. Along with $4,000 to support operations, I Pour Life received $16,000 of in-kind donations, such as furniture and one-year free rent of 1,000 square feet at Glenstone Square on South Glenstone Avenue. I Pour Life serves to fight poverty and promote leadership locally and in El Salvador and Ethiopia.
