On Dec. 16, members of the Heart of the Ozarks Sertoma Club present a $23,700 check to Boys & Girls Clubs Executive Director Pat Gartland, second from right, and President-elect Gary Powell, third from left. The donation represents a year’s worth of lease payments to Springfield Public Schools. In August, a Sertoma unit of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield opened in the new Sherwood Elementary. The Heart of the Ozarks club operates weekly bingo games to support its charitable contributions.
