Gov. Mike Parson on Jan. 11 is sworn in after defeating state Auditor Nicole Galloway at the polls in November. It’s the first elected term as governor for Parson, who took over in 2018 after the abrupt resignation of former Gov. Eric Greitens. Parson was sworn in by Judge Sarah Castle, who represents the 16th judicial circuit in Jackson County. In Jefferson City, Springfield-area resident Scott Fitzpatrick also was sworn in as treasurer.
