U-Haul moving trucks are parked outside Famous Dave’s on Jan. 28; a sign on the door said the restaurant had closed. The Springfield restaurant operated for seven years at 4406 S. Campbell Ave. after replacing Auto World of Springfield. The closure notice also indicated a Branson location remains open.

Truck Training

Officials on Jan. 28 cut the ribbon on the new MHC Diesel Technician Training Center at Ozarks Technical Community College. The $2 million project was spearheaded by a $1 million matching grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce. At the 12,500-square-foot center, three truck bays and four classrooms with learning labs are available for students. The center is named after lead donor Murphy-Hoffman Co.
