Community members gather Dec. 9 in the Greene County Historic Courthouse to honor retiring county commissioner Roseann Bentley, standing. The longtime public servant was the state’s first female senator from southwest Missouri, a Springfield Public Schools board president, the first president of the Junior League of Springfield and a founding member of Ozarks Public Television. She was elected to the commission in 2004.
