A wedding and event planner plans to develop a $15 million hotel in St. Charles.
Sherri Steffens, owner of Heart Events, said the 117-room Hampton Inn & Suites would replace The Heart of St. Charles event space. It's the first phase of a planned multiphase development.
The Heart of St. Charles is slated to be redeveloped into an additional hotel, retail and apartments in later phases of Steffens' project.
