"We have seen extremely good results the past two years we have offered this course. The pass rate for our students has been above the national average pass rate each year," said Laura Ward, director of Webster University's Ozarks Regional campus, located at the corner of Campbell Street and Battlefield Road in Springfield. "Participants receive excellent study materials as well as practical real-world information from a human resources professional."|ret||ret||tab|
The course will be taught by Carol Murrow, MA, PHR, director of physician development for Ferrell-Duncan Clinic Inc. Murrow has more than 14 years of experience in the human resource field, and has been a human resources instructor at the college level.|ret||ret||tab|
"Not only does Murrow have extensive experience in the field, she also knows what it takes to pass the exam. Her combination of practical experience and academic knowledge will be the key to success on this exam," Ward said. |ret||ret||tab|
Course content includes management practices, selection and placement, compensation and benefits, recruiting via the Internet, training and development, and social and labor-force trends.|ret||ret||tab|
Students enrolled in the training program also can benefit from networking opportunities studying with other human resource professionals from the area. Professionals working toward a master's degree can earn three credit hours for the course. Participants interested in pursuing a master's degree are encouraged to explore tuition reimbursement opportunities available from current employers, and are not required to pay for the training course until after completion of the term.|ret||ret||tab|
