Washington University receives $744K grant

Washington University in St. Louis received a $744,000 grant from the Environmental Protection Agency.

The funds are earmarked for school officials to study the environmental impact of bioremediation, or the use of microorganisms to “eat” pollutants, officials say.

The grant for Washington University is one of five awarded nationwide.
