Washington University called to donate to public schools

A campaign is pushing for tax-exempt Washington University to donate to local school districts.

The St. Louis Democratic Socialists of America is asking Washington University to make payments in lieu of taxes of $15 million per year to St. Louis Public Schools and the School District of University City.

Washington University's $11.5 billion endowment is one of the largest in higher education.
