Walt Disney Co. heiress Abigail Disney took to Twitter to criticize the company for furloughing thousands of employees during the coronavirus pandemic.
Responding to a Financial Times article, Disney cited reporting that indicated the company's executives are continuing to receive bonuses. Meanwhile, the company stopped paying 100,000 workers to save $500 million per month.
Disney, the granddaughter of Walt Disney’s brother Roy Disney, used expletives in the tweets. Abigail Disney said the "real outrage" is the bonuses, which she said would "pay for three months salary to front line workers."
