Walmart reported better-than-expected quarterly earnings as shoppers sought the company's lower-priced goods amid rising consumer prices nationwide.
Adjusted earnings per share came to $1.45, compared with the $1.40 per share estimate by analysts.
While profits beat expectations, net income was down to $3.1 billion from $5.1 billion a year earlier.
