Walmart hired Suresh Kumar as its global chief technology officer and global chief development officer.
He succeeds Jeremy King, who left the retailer to join Pinterest in March.
Kumar is currently vice president and general manager of display, video, app ads and analytics at Google. He previously held executive roles at Microsoft and Amazon.
Walmart "is in the midst of a very exciting digital transformation," Kumar said in a news release. "The potential for technology to help people at scale is unparalleled."
