Walmart is buying a 0.9% stake in Japanese tech giant Rakuten.
The company's shares jumped 20% on Monday after announcing it would sell stakes to Walmart, postal and banking giant Japan Post and Chinese internet company Tencent.
Rakuten's business portfolio includes e-commerce, video streaming and financial technology.
