Walgreens to shutter 600 Rite Aid stores

Posted online

Walgreens Boots Alliance plans to close nearly 600 of the 1,932 Rite Aid stores it's buying for $4.4 billion.

The locations overlap with other Ride Aid or Walgreens stores, company officials said.

“The vast majority being closed are within one mile of another drugstore that we own going forward,” said Alexander Gourlay, Walgreens co-chief operating officer.
