Walgreens Boots Alliance bought a 40 percent stake in China’s leading retail-pharmacy, the Chicago Business Journal reports.
The Deerfield, Illinois-based chain is investing $418 million into China National Accord Medicines Corp. subsidiary Sinopharm Holding Guoda Drugstores Co.
“It is China’s leading pharmacy chain and we believe that we can positively contribute to its continued successful development with our global pharmacy expertise,” Walgreens Boots Alliance CEO Stefano Pessina said in a statement.
