Walgreens store planned for Marshfield

Posted online
A 14,800-square-foot Walgreens drug store will likely open this fall at the intersection of Vivian and State Highway 38 in Marshfield, according to Walgreen Co. corporate spokeswoman Carol Hively.

“We like to open our stores before Thanksgiving, before the big retail season starts,” Hively said.

The planned store is Walgreen’s first in Marshfield. The developer/landlord for the Marshfield site is Tulsa, Okla.-based Pinnacle Commercial Group LLC.

Hively said the building’s size is typical of the chain’s locations, and it will include a pharmacy drive-through.

Publicly traded Walgreens (NYSE: WAG) has 170 stores in Missouri, and a total of 6,237 stores in every state and in Puerto Rico. The company’s stock traded this morning at $35.43 per share compared to a 52-week range of $32.50 to $49.10.
