Walgreens enters $106M settlement agreement

Walgreens reached a $106 million settlement over lawsuits alleging false payment claims with government health care programs.

The pharmacy chain has been accused of allegedly submitting false payment claims to Medicare, Medicaid and other federal health care programs for prescriptions that were processed but never picked up.

The lawsuits filed in New Mexico, Texas and Florida were made under a whistleblower provision of the False Claims Act.
