Wal-Mart's comparable sales miss estimates

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. today reported lower-than-expected quarterly sales at established U.S. stores.

Same-store sales rose 1.2 percent during the third quarter, below analysts' expectations of 1.3 percent.

Net income attributable to Wal-Mart dropped to $3.03 billion from $3.3 billion a year earlier. Net sales rose 0.5 percent to $117.2 billion.
