Wal-Mart to sell AT&T Internet service

Posted online
Wal-Mart stores in Missouri and 12 other states this week began distributing brochures about AT&T’s Yahoo! high-speed Internet services, which the retailer intends to begin selling early next year.

The brochures, available at 570 stores, direct customers to a Web site to order the broadband Internet service.

In February, Wal-Mart plans to set up Connection Centers in its stores. Associates will be on hand to help customers determine high-speed Internet service availability in their areas and purchase the service on the spot. AT&T then would ship Internet self-installation kits to the customers’ homes.

The Connection Centers will offer the full portfolio of AT&T Yahoo high-speed Internet services, including 1.5 mbps-Internet Express, 3 mbps-Internet Pro and 6 mbps-Internet Elite. Service prices start at $14.99 per month.

In addition to Missouri, Wal-Mart will introduce its AT&T products in California, Nevada, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin and Connecticut.[[In-content Ad]]
