Wal-Mart to invest $2.7B in domestic workforce

Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE: WMT) announced plans to invest $2.7 billion in its domestic workforce.

That includes $64 million for its home state, where it would implement raises for some 39,000 employees.

In Arkansas, hourly workers would see their pay rise to $12.80 from $10.37 per hour by February.
