Wal-Mart, Sears to stop selling Confederate flag merchandise

Wal-Mart and Sears, two of the country's largest retailers, announced plans to remove all Confederate flag merchandise from their stores.

The announcement follows last week's shooting at a historic African American church in Charleston, S.C., according to CNN.

South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley also called Monday for the removal of the Confederate flag from the grounds of the state capitol, according to NBC News.
